Mission and Aims

Statement of Mission and Vision

Elders of CCF desire our church to grow into a more perfect reflection of Jesus’s purposes for His redeemed people. To that end, here is a fresh expression of our biblical mission (a summary of why we exist), of our vision (a focused description of our future direction), and of ten core aims that flow out of that vision. He promises grace, strength, and wisdom for His needy people who will trust Him for greater things. May He increase our faith, and magnify His own wonderful name!

Our mission:

To grow in Christ together in worship, love, and service, so that we may reach the world around us, beyond us, for His greater glory.

Our vision:

To be a regional center of evangelical worship and proclamation, where the members are growing disciples of Jesus who are connected to a caring cell, are equipped to serve in a ministry team, and are reaching their circle of influence.

Our aims:

God helping us, we devote our wills, our energies, our resources, and our very selves so that we may become…

1. A Worshipping Church…(1 Pet. 2:5) *

where each member expresses a growing love for God with a holy life, daily personal worship, prayer, and service; and where corporate worship includes creative and diverse expressions of praise, along with life-challenging Bible exposition.

2. A Loving Church…(John 13:34)

where seekers and believers are welcomed and cared for by the people of God through the loving relationships of a small group or ministry team, and where members are encouraged to love and serve others in need, in the church and in the world.

3. A Praying Church…(Phil. 4:6)

where leaders model a life of prayer, where members learn how to pray, and where every worker, leader, missionary, program, event, crisis need, and decision is supported by frequent and varied ministries of intercessory prayer.

4. An Equipping Church…(Eph. 4:12)

where members are trained for personal and corporate worship, established in patterns of growth, equipped and deployed in gifted service, integrated into a cell or ministry team, and sustained in their ministries by encouragement and training.

5. A Team-based Church…(Mark 3:14)

with a staff and leaders who model ministry in teams that have identified goals, interdependent roles, and mutually supportive relationships, and who guide the formation of such teams of workers for ministry in the church.

6. A Next Generation Church…(1 Timothy 4:12)

that is sensitive to the outlook and culture of young people, is turning them into committed followers of Jesus, and preparing them to take the baton of godly character, authentic faith, and servant-hearted leadership into the next generation.

7. A Witnessing Church…(Matt. 5:16)

where each lost person within the influence of every member is prayed for by others, is exposed to Christian friendship and compassion, and is provided with a way to hear the gospel message presented clearly and positively.

8. A Great Commission Church…(Matt. 28:19,20)

where each church member understands the great commission and God’s plan for the nations, is engaged in the support of evangelization through prayer and giving, and is personally available to serve God cross-culturally if He should so lead.

9. A Lighthouse Church…(1 Thess. 1:8)

using Christian action and public communication to expose every resident of our region to our presence and message, so that seekers and those touched by the witness of others will know where they may find life in Jesus and help to grow in Him.

10. A Connecting Church…(Matt. 16:18)

making sure that Biblically faithful churches are either established or actively supported in the towns where we gather, while fostering evangelical cooperation in pastoral prayer gatherings, training endeavors, and united evangelistic witness.
